Hi, this is Daniel from One Percent Property, coming to you on Thursday, the 7th of January, 2021 with the first weekly market update for the year. So what has been going on in the last seven days in property, in our beautiful state and in our beautiful area, Kedron and the surrounding suburbs and in the North Brisbane?
Well, not a whole lot, really. In Queensland, there's been 154 sales. It's always a very quiet time of year. Obviously, everyone's on holiday in between Christmas and New Year's. So not a lot happens. No auctions this week. There was one sale in our local area that was 43/106 Jean Street in Grange. Sold for a very respectful $550,000. Congratulations to all involved in those deals. But that was about it in our local area as far as property goes this week.
In the news, as 2020 finished up, and we look forward to 2021, we had around a 4% price growth in Brisbane. Which is very respectable, especially taking into account everything that happened last year and all of the banks forecasting negative 10% back in March. It's a pretty good result. That is forecast to strengthen further as we move into 2021, with a lot of people talking double digit growth across Brisbane.
And really, that inner city ring within five to 10 kilometers of the city center has been highlighted as the hotspot for growth and our inner north area, Kedron and surrounding suburbs, falls into that. So I'm expecting to see some really, really fantastic things for property in the next 12 months.
We also finished the year with an auction clearance rate close to the highest we've seen in a decade. Which again, shows good strength in the market. It shows a lot of people buying properties, a lot of properties changing hands, and a lot of really, really good news for homeowners in our fantastic area. A few reasons behind why the growth is there and why it's forecast to continue.
Big, big interstate migration coming into Queensland. We had a lot of people coming in, even before the pandemic, and now we're getting a lot of people moving from Melbourne and from Sydney up to Queensland, taking advantage of our fantastic lifestyle up here. Obviously, cash rate very, very low. So borrowing money is a lot cheaper. And all of these things factor in to hopefully giving us a fantastic 2021 as far as prices go and as far as property goes in our local area.
At One Percent Property, we've slowed down a little bit over the break, but we were working. The biggest thing for me and for my agency that came over Christmas, was that I managed to just take the top spot for highest recommended agent by vendor recommendations in Kedron, which I'm really, really obviously proud of. And I'm really, really grateful to all of the people that left a review for me, all the people that I worked with over the last 12 months. And to our beautiful community. So thank you very much and I look forward to hopefully holding that spot for the next 12 months as well.

And also, one at 246 Pickering Street. If you remember, that was a property that was on the market with another agent for just under a year. We managed to sell it in seven days. That one settles on Monday. So, a very relieved and happy vendor in that. And I'm just glad I could deliver for them. Lots of big things to come in the year. I'm really, really excited to continue working in our beautiful community.
