Hi, this is Daniel from One Percent Property, here with your weekly property market update on Thursday, the 10th of December, 2020. Special welcome to the family and friends of Kedron State High School. Last week coming up, and then everyone's on summer holidays. So it's been a massive year for everyone. Congratulations, and thank you for watching.
So what's been happening in property in the last seven days in our beautiful state and in our beautiful area. So in Queensland, we had 1,615 sales across the last seven days, which is a massive number. Very, very surprising as things normally start to slow down towards Christmas. And I've said this before, but I think it's going to be an interesting Christmas period, because less people are going away. More people are going to be looking at property. So I think things might be a lot busier than we are used to over the Christmas period.
Auction clearance rate of 66% up on 61% this time, last year. Again, a very, very strong result. Strongest auction clearance rate we've seen in a long time.
Some notable sales in our local area. 17 Emerald Street in Kedron, which is a duplex style townhouse, that achieved 567,000. That's a great result. And 84 Nelson Street in Kalinga. Another great sale in Kalinga. Beautiful stunning family home, achieved $1,904,470, which is another fantastic result. So congratulations to the buyers and sellers involved in those sales.
In the news this week, everything is positive. It is looking really, really good as we move in towards that Christmas period. Consumer confidence is the highest it's been in over 12 months. It's rising every month. The auction clearance rate is the highest it's been in over 12 months. And that seems to be rising every 12 months as well, which even as we move into Christmas is really, really surprising. Lots and lots of activity in sales in the market. As I said, the 1,615 in Queensland is the highest we've seen definitely, since before COVID.
So again, lots and lots of properties moving hands. Cash is as cheap as ever. And the nation is really, really starting to rebound from obviously the lull we had in the middle of the year, early in the year. And it seems like Brisbane is leading the way. Brisbane is the city that everyone is talking about. Brisbane is where people are investing. I'm constantly getting calls from people from Melbourne and Sydney who are looking to invest in our beautiful city.
So it's really, really good things. Lots of positive things and a really good outlook for early 2021. At One Percent Property, this week 1/246 Pickering Street in Gaythorne is unconditional. We took that property on after it had been sitting on the market for 355 days with one of the major agencies, in the area. We sold it in 7 days and it is now unconditional. And we have some very, very happy vendors.
So I'm really, really grateful to be a part of that process. Six at 55 Sixth Avenue launched last Friday. Within 24 hours, we had 15 inquiries and six inspections had already taken place. And I'm pretty confident that one is going to go under contract within the first seven days again, which it's a beautiful apartment in Kedron and anything on the avenues, I'm sure everyone knows, it's such a desirable area now, that things are moving fast.
Lots of great homes coming up as well, probably launching in early 2021.
